Since 2010 we have been giving guided walks to Londoners and tourist alike, to corporations and individuals that are keen to learn and to be inspired. The experience has been most rewarding. It is not hard, we live in the most cultural and creative city in the world.

Researching routes and guiding tours has given us access to  cherished information about London. While going through our vast archive we were prompted  to launch a research arm to our business.

Since 2010 we’ve developed a command for London’s history and a skill to narrate this in an inspiring and personal manner. It is for this reason that Business Improvement Districts, local councils and luxury heritage brands have called upon our expertise to help them tell their history.

Drafting routes through London has seen us scavenge its cultural and creative landscape to document its changes and promote its evolution. As a result we have developed a large network of creative and cultural practitioners with whom we often collaborate. This has made us a valuable source to brands who request our advice and expertise on brokering creative partnerships. Such examples include Huawei, the latest camera phone, and D & D London.

We are quite literally out on the street conducting tours which has given us direct access to consumer trends. Unlike foxes and squirrels we pride ourselves for sharing this information with the broader public. For example, our findings have helped bridge the gap between Business Improvement Districts, London Councils and local businesses.

By broadening our repertoire of walks we have accumulated experience within the food, art, fashion and photography scenes in London. We can therefore boast for our collective cross disciplinary research skills.  It is not coincidental that we have been commissioned to consult and assist businesses from many industries including hospitality, tourism and property. Some of these clients include Battersea Power Station, Reignwood PLC, Clarges, D & D London, and Visit Britain.

How we have collaborated with others:

  • A Grade II* listed building in Tower Hamlets is currently undergoing restoration by a visionary Chinese company with an aim to market the building to high net worth individuals. On completion would comprise a collection of elegant residences, five-star hotel, and private members’ club. This is to be the first Chinese company doing this, therefore showing the continued importance of London to China.

    Fox & Squirrel were enlisted to devise a cultural walk on behalf of GHC Asia for visiting journalists covering the development. We were asked to showcase the area around the development as up and coming and with easy proximity to the City. We presented a myriad of historical facts regarding the environs of the development, and positioned this information alongside the area’s present-day relevance in the eyes of prospective investors. The walk explored the Square Mile from a historical, social and financial perspective, whilst incorporating art, food and design along the way. The presence of all these elements created a unique luxury standing for development, a position that is both distinctive and exciting.


  • The Northbank was commissioned to develop two distinct scripts of walks for the area, which is currently undergoing a ‘rebrand’. The Northbank wished to tap into London’s tourism sectors. Fox & Squirrel’s Street Photography and Food Walks highlighted the area’s cultural and creative heritage, coupled with its existing cultural diversity and creative uniqueness. Both were good themes to expand upon around the Northbank as the location’s variety and authenticity lent themselves well to both photography subjects, and the development of its culinary histories and ‘narratives’.

  • Victoria BID is a business-led and business funded body formed to improve the Victoria area. Fox & Squirrel were commissioned to generate Street Photography walks by their in-house marketing team. The main aim of the photography walks was to use smart phones as a platform for photography to be uploaded to social media. This was a marketing campaign that was inspired by the ethos of the Victoria BID: green, clean, sustainability, progress and transport. The uses of hashtags provided an opportunity to track images on Instagram with the hope of creating a database of images and grow the area’s audience engagement online.

    Each walk was capped at 20 people, with an additional 10-person waiting list. This enabled the BID to capture up to 240 email addresses and engage with as many as 240 BID area employees and residents. Walks returned at 75% turnout rate (an even split between local residents and Victoria employees).

    The walks generated 260 posts on Instagram for the Victoria BID, using the hashtag #londonstartshere.

  • “STA Travel worked with Fox & Squirrel on a street photography

    campaign, whereby we ran several successful workshops and walks led by Fox & Squirrel at various stores across the UK. The workshops and walks were offered for free to national applicants. STA captured 900 emails per Fox & Squirrel street photography walk and workshop.

    At the same time we ran a competition across our online channels to win tickets, receiving more than a thousand entries from enthusiastic amateurs – the events went smoothly & the participants learned many tips on how to enhance their photo-taking.
